In IT, “bad blocks” are digital corruptions that render information unreadable and unwritable. For Hamish Lang (26, production) and Daniel Neeve (26, vocals, guitars, production), Bad Blocks push, file, and rewrite accessible electronic music with the study of an anthropologist and the soul of TS Eliot.
Today, Stars & Letters are proud to announce that Bad Blocks have officially joined the Stars & Letters family and that we’ll be releasing their new four-song EP Circulate on July 8 2014. In anticipation of this release, we’re also re-releasing their incredible debut EP Weekday today—originally self-released by the band on Bandcamp late in 2012 (when Bad Blocks were still called South City Sushi Cop).
If you’re an emerging band, self-releasing music in places as far away as New Zealand, it sometimes just won’t matter how truly miraculous your debut release is… most people just won’t hear of it. By re-releasing Bad Blocks’ debut EP eighteen months after the fact, we’re unlikely to change that. And yet try we must. To discover something great, something rare, something that moves you and that only so few other people have heard about… it’s why we’re doing all of this in the first place.
Aren’t you? 😉
